Belinda is an employment and commercial solicitor specialising in the workforce solutions sector. She joined JMW from Osborne Clarke LLP where she was associate director advising on regulatory, commercial, employment, and tax matters for both clients and suppliers in the workforce solutions space.
Belinda began her career in employment litigation but later joined the Recruitment and Employment Confederation in 1997 to lead its legal services function. There, she played a central role in consultations relating to key sector regulation, including the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003, IR35, the early stages of the Agency Workers Directive and Regulations, and sat on the statutory Gangmaster Licensing Authority board (now the Gangmaster and Labour Abuse Authority) in its first two years.
During her career she has been legal director of two private sector multi-national recruitment organisations, one workforce solutions provider operating solely in the public sector, and has headed up legal and compliance functions at other organisations.
