Ben advises officeholders and directors on a range of contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters, including misfeasance and debt recovery claims, the validity and enforcement of security (including the appointment of receivers), and business and asset sales from insolvent companies, including pre-pack administrations. Ben has also gained exposure to cross-jurisdictional work and developed his advocacy skills during his time working in Canada.

Ben read Law at the University of Sheffield, graduating with First Class Honours in 2018. During his studies, he spent time abroad studying European Business Law and International Relations in Lyon, and later International Insolvency Law in Athens. He went on to complete the LPC MSc in Law, Business and Management with Distinction at the University of Law in Leeds.

Prior to joining JMW, Ben trained at DLA Piper before working at a boutique litigation firm in Calgary, Canada, where he worked on a broad range of dispute matters. He was sponsored to qualify as a Barrister/Solicitor in Alberta.
