In May 2023, Caterina joined as a Partner in the Corporate & Commercial team of JMW’s London office.

Caterina is a dual qualified Solicitor in England and Wales and Avvocato in Italy, with extensive international experience on cross border matters. Since 2008 she has built a strong reputation in her ability to assist and advise Italian and foreign businesses that are seeking to enter the UK market through a local establishment or by acquisition, and British businesses entering into cross border business relationships or strategic alliances with foreign partners.

Caterina directly handles day-to-day transactional and commercial matters, including intellectual property licenses, technology, joint venture, collaboration, manufacturing, distribution and supply agreements, convertible loans, corporate governance agreements, and general corporate advisory matters. Recently she has advised on NSI notifications under the new National Security Regulations and on public procurements and related commercial and regulatory issues.

Caterina has specialist skills and consolidated experience to mitigate those differences and cultural boundaries providing assistance and advice on cross-border issues.

After achieving her law degree and LLM in European Law from the Second University of Naples, Caterina obtained her qualification as an English lawyer and her International Practice Diploma from the College of Law, London.

Caterina is an active member of a number of professional associations. She is a member of the International Bar Association and the IBA Closely Held Companies Committee and sits on the executive committee of the British Italian Law Association. She is also a member of OMNIA – Italian Desks in the World and a director of UK Confederation.

Caterina often speaks at and participates in industry conferences and seminars and advises clients in a wide range of industries, including real estate and hospitality, sport, food and beverage, fashion, technology, construction, logistics, manufacturing and energy.

Caterina’s recent work highlights include:

  • Advising a Luxemburg holding company of a large corporation group to subscribe up to 54% of share capital of a UK subsidiary linked to a purchase of assets carried out between the parties’ respective subsidiaries incorporated in Italy.
  • Advising a Korean holding company’s group in a minority shareholding acquisition in a UK company including advising on a complex IP license and collaboration agreement.
  • Advising a UK innovative business technology start-up company operating internationally on corporate governance, £12 million financial rounds, regulatory and commercial issues.
