Gemma has been a key part of JMW’s Corporate team for several years, contributing significantly to its growth and success, recognised through her promotion to Partner in 2025.
Before joining JMW, Gemma trained and qualified at a global law firm, developing a strong technical foundation across a broad range of corporate matters. Her experience extends beyond private practice, having served as in-house corporate counsel for a property management company and, more recently, completing a secondment with a long-standing JMW client in the financial advisory sector. This combination of perspectives enables Gemma to bring a highly commercial and pragmatic approach to her work, understanding first-hand the operational realities businesses face.
Gemma has extensive experience advising on a variety of transactions for management teams, vendors and purchasers across a wide range of sectors. Known for her personal and proactive style, she builds strong working relationships with clients, ensuring each transaction runs efficiently and with a clear focus on their strategic objectives. Gemma has a particular passion in assisting female founders.
Gemma has strong expertise in the financial advisory sector with a genuine depth of knowledge, having acted for consolidating platforms and for the principals and management teams selling their businesses. Gemma understands the specific legal, commercial and regulatory dynamics that make IFA transactions distinct from general M&A and whichever side of the deal she is acting on, she brings fast, practical, quality advice which is aligned to the commercial drivers.
In addition to her client work, Gemma leads the Corporate team’s continuous improvement initiatives, driving training and development, refining internal processes, and fostering a culture of collaboration. Her leadership in this area has enhanced the team’s efficiency and strengthened JMW’s ability to deliver responsive, high-quality support to clients.
