Joanne is a Partner in the Personal Injury Department with over 20 years’ experience helping clients who have sustained catastrophic injuries, with a specialist interest in jurisdictional and applicable law issues.
Her expertise lies in dealing with complex and catastrophic injury claims, and she has achieved numerous multi-million-pound settlements, which have provided for her clients' rehabilitation and future needs. She also regularly deals with fatal accidents, road traffic accidents, including those abroad, assisting clients who were working abroad, accidents on airplanes, civil remedies for survivors of sexual assault, and accidents on cruise ships.
She is proud to be a trustee of Headway Salford, Trafford, and North Manchester. She serves on the executive committee of the American Association of Justice International Practice Section and is a member of the Pan European Organisation of Personal Injury Lawyers as well as the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, where she was formerly the co-chair of the North West Group. Joanne has also written for legal journals and regularly presents at conferences and training seminars.
Joanne is noted as a leading partner for her catastrophic injury case work, and her cross-border work in the Legal 500, with feedback confirming ‘Joanne Brine is one of the best practitioners in this field. She is friendly and caring towards clients but firm and tenacious when dealing with opponents.

Joanne graduated from Liverpool University before training and qualifying at Pannone LLP in Manchester, specialising in catastrophic injury claims, moving to Slater and Gordon UK LLP upon their acquisition of Pannone and sub-specialising in serious injury litigation with a cross-border element before joining the specialist department at JMW.
Joanne enjoys outdoor activities, including running, swimming, and yoga in her spare time.
