Rebecca joined JMW as a Senior Associate in the Media team in July 2019.

Rebecca specialises in advising clients on reputation management, including dealing with media coverage, data privacy and intellectual property disputes; providing both legal and commercial advice.

Rebecca advises a broad spectrum of clients; ranging from individuals, owner managed businesses to large corporate PLCs, on a wide range of legal issues including:

  • Defamation (libel and slander)
  • Misuse of private information and harassment
  • Breach of confidence
  • Data Protection
  • Social media and internet disputes
  • Preventing and handling hostile media coverage
  • “Right to be Forgotten” requests
  • Injunctive relief
  • Intellectual property disputes
  • Franchising dispute, advising both franchisors and franchisees

Rebecca also has considerable experience in dealing with a wide range of complex, high value commercial litigation disputes, including shareholder disputes, contractual and commercial disputes, franchising disputes, and insolvency related disputes.

Rebecca graduated from Leeds University in 2007 and completed the LPC at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2009. She trained and qualified at Pannone LLP in 2011. Following the acquisition of part of Pannone LLP by Slater and Gordon in 2014, Rebecca remained within the Commercial Litigation team before moving to BLM in October 2017, following its acquisition of Slater and Gordon’s Commercial Advisory department.

Rebecca won “Young Lawyer of the Year” award at the North West Insider’s 2019 Young Professionals Awards.

Rebecca holds the North West chair for EWIF (encouraging women in franchising).

Rebecca is also an ambassador for Women in the Law UK, included in the Northern Power Women’s Future List 2018 and an ambassador for Forever Manchester.​​​​​​
