Clare is a Partner in the Personal Injury team specialising in helping injured members of the armed forces and their families.
Clare has significant experience in a wide range of military claims but specialises in serious and life changing injuries. Clare understands how devastating the loss of military career can be and the difficulties that can be faced transitioning from military to civilian life. She has won millions of pounds in compensation for her clients which has helped them rebuild their lives after injury and secured their future rehabilitation and care needs.
Clare also acts in claims under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme and Criminal Injuries Compensation (Overseas) Scheme.
In addition to assisting injured service personnel, Clare has considerable experience in fatal accident cases and providing representation to bereaved military families at inquests to establish what has happened to their loved one. Clare has acted in many high profile cases and understands how daunting the process can be and is able to offer support and guidance throughout.
Clare was previously Secretary to the Royal British Legion Solicitors Group and was part of the team that won The Claims Innovation Award 2016 for Legal Service Team of the Year.
Pilot A - £7.2 million settlement for severe traumatic brain injury
Castlemartin Inquest – inquest into the death of 2 servicemen who died following an explosion of a Challenger 2 tank during live firing training in June 2017.
Brecon Beacon Inquest – inquest into the death 3 soldiers who died of heat exhaustion following SAS selection test in the Brecon Beacons in July 2013.
Lynx Helicopter inquest – inquest into the death of 5 servicemen who died when their aircraft went down in Afghanistan in April 2014.
