Law firm JMW hits record month for medical negligence

The specialist medical negligence team at law firm JMW ended their financial year on a high note after securing almost £19 million in compensation for clients during April.

The conclusion of three multi-million pound cases in April enabled the medical negligence team at JMW to obtain a record monthly compensation figure of £18.8 million. This far surpasses the department’s previous record month when approximately £6.7 million was secured.

The cases involved serious injuries to children who were left with severe disabilities due to the negligence of hospital staff. The compensation will enable their families to provide the 24-hour specialist care, equipment and therapies that the children will require for the rest of their lives.

Eddie Jones, head of medical negligence at JMW, commented: “To achieve such success with three of the most complex and high-value cases we have worked on this financial year in the same month is an incredible accomplishment and will make a huge difference to the lives of the children involved.

“Our reputation for excellence in cases involving children who were left with severe disabilities because errors were made with their care means we are currently representing numerous children who have suffered such catastrophic failings.

“These claims are extremely complex and are frequently hard-fought so each and every case we win is a huge victory for the families involved as they have achieved some justice for their child.

“Our track record for achieving such exceptional results for our clients has seen our team go from strength-to-strength and achieve growth at a time when some personal injury law firms are struggling to compete.”
