Medical negligence team put best feet forward for children’s charity
A charity that helps children with disabilities has been given a boost by a team of solicitors who put their best feet forward to raise more than £2,000.
The specialist medical negligence team at JMW took part in the Legacy Rainbow House’s annual Rainbow Ramble to bring in a healthy total of £2,200.
The Legacy Rainbow House is based in Mawdesley, Ormskirk but provides support services to children with brain injuries and other life-limiting conditions nationwide.
The charity offers therapies and ‘conductive education’ sessions which aim to help children with conditions such as cerebral palsy to improve their communication and mobility.
The team from JMW, which is based in Manchester city centre, are keen supporters of the charity’s good work and the Rainbow Ramble, an 11 or 18 mile walk around the West Lancashire countryside, is just one of the regular fundraisers they participate in.
Eddie Jones, head of medical negligence at JMW, was one of several team members that took on the challenge. He commented: “The Legacy Rainbow House is a fantastic charity as it helps youngsters with a range of disabilities take great strides forward with the specialist therapies and services it provides.
“As specialist medical negligence solicitors we have represented many children living with cerebral palsy so understand how challenging life can be for parents who just want to do all they can to give their child a good quality of life.
“The Legacy Rainbow House is a lifeline in that respect and as it relies on donations to survive we are always keen to help in any way we can.”
Joanne Mawdsley, founder of The Legacy Rainbow House, added: “The Legacy Rainbow House is proud of its association with JMW, their team of clinical negligence professionals give our children and families hope.
“JMW is a team of experts who don't only show their commitment to the children and families they work on behalf of but also to the wider community via their continuing contribution to our services and their fund raising events. We thank them for their support and hope they set a precedence for other companies to follow suit in showing their corporate social responsibility to the amazing charitable services in and around the community.”
