Joanne joined JMW in April 2018 into the Personal Injury, Travel Litigation department.

Joanne is a Partner in the Travel Litigation team specialising in helping clients who have sustained injuries following an accident abroad. Her expertise lies in dealing with complex and catastrophic injury claims, and she has achieved numerous multi-million pound settlements which have provided for her clients rehabilitation and future needs. She also regularly deals with fatal accidents, road traffic accidents abroad, clients who were working abroad, accidents on airplanes, and accidents on cruise ships.

She is a member of the American Association of Justice and the Pan European Organisation of Personal Injury Lawyers as well as APIL. In 2019 Joanne was appointed as the Co-ordinator for the Norther West Regional Group of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. Joanne has also written for legal journals and presented at conferences and training seminars.

Joanne is noted as “highly regarded” for her cross-border catastrophic injury case work in the Legal 500.

In the 2022 edition of Chambers and Partners Joanne is described as "a very clever and experienced lawyer who has very good judgement." with some of her clients also adding "I was very impressed with how Joanne managed to pull all the evidence together and explain all the steps involved." "She is very good at dealing with complex jurisdictional issues." The 2023 edition of Chambers and Partners described Joanne as "a safe pair of hands on complex claimant-side work."

Joanne graduated from Liverpool University in 1999 and completed the Legal Practice Course in 2000 in Manchester. She trained and qualified at Pannone LLP in Manchester specialising in catastrophic injury claims, moving to Slater and Gordon UK LLP upon their acquisition of Pannone and sub specialising in serious injury litigation with a cross border element.

Joanne enjoys outdoor activities including running and swimming, along with yoga in her spare time.
