JMW works with SafetyCulture on its new Manchester office as the tech giant plans for expansion in the UK

JMW Real Estate team was delighted to work with global technology company SafetyCulture on their expansion into a new ultra-modern Manchester office as the company looks towards its next phase of growth.

SafetyCulture will now occupy 10,000 sq ft at the iconic former 19th-century bank, Bond, following its redevelopment. The office will initially accommodate 60 people, with the potential to accommodate over 100 team members as the company continues to grow.

In the UK alone, SafetyCulture’s workplace operations platform is used across more than 18,000 businesses to enable better ways of working and boost productivity. The new office space will house SafetyCulture’s growing EMEA team, as they look to add to their client list, which already includes the NHS, National Grid, British Airways, and Transport for London.

Alongside its purpose-driven culture, SafetyCulture has designed the new office to help attract and retain some of the top talent in the North West and beyond. The office includes a range of unique features, such as a library that converts into a games room and an in-house chef providing breakfast, lunch and snacks.

The office also boasts themed meeting rooms inspired by the workplaces of SafetyCulture’s customer base, as well as special touches like ‘recording booth’ meeting pods that give a distinctive nod to the rich history of Manchester’s music scene. The business is also supporting local suppliers by using products from Ancoats Soap Company, Brew Tea Co and Ancoats Coffee.

Founded in Australia in 2004, tech unicorn SafetyCulture is now worth £1.38 billion. The company’s growing UK operations will help support its aim of reaching over 100 million deskless workers globally by 2032.

Simon Maddox, partner in our Real Estate Commercial team, said: “It’s great to see SafetyCulture pushing the boundaries when it comes to creating innovative, collaborative and cutting edge office space, and a pleasure to work with them on the legal aspects of their expansion into new offices in Manchester.”
